Working with stoneware or porcelain, the pots are initially formed on a treadle wheel. Cut apart, reassembled, handled, or footed, the pots are coated with a thick slip or two. After biscuit firing and the application of a liner glaze, they are then placed into a 2 chamber wood/salt kiln. The final skin on the exterior of the pots depends upon a combination of atmosphere, wood, and salt from the kiln.
